Mini has taken the wraps of its rally car. Mini will take a part of World Rally Championship (WRC) next year. The car has been built by Prodrive based on the new Countryman model. The car has been given a major makeover before it fights the rally stages next year. A radical looking rear wing and bugling wheel arches make sure the Mini WRC at least looks the part. The car powered by BMW Motorsport built 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Mini WRC also uses an all-wheel drive system coupled with a racing built six-speed sequential transmission in order to get the power to the road. Mini confirmed its first driver for its 2011 campaign at the show. Kris Meeke (Northern Irish) will be first driver of the cars. Kris Meeke is tipped to be partnered by Marcus Gronholm -a former WRC champion. Gronholm retired at the end of 2007 but is reportedly tempted to comeback by the chance to drive for Mini.
