A multirole aircraft owned by the French Air Force -Mirage collided in midair with a fighter jet F-15 Eagle-owned Saudi Arabian Air Force in joint exercises in the region of Tabuk in northern Saudi Arabia, Saturday (14/01/2012) evening.
There were no casualties in the incident as the pilots directly activate the catapult seats once the collision occurred. Investigations have been made to ensure the cause of the collision.
When the joint exercise in the air battle, a Mirage aircraft from France Air Force collided with the Saudi Arabian Air forces F-15. Saudi pilot and two French pilots jumped out safely, and immediately taken to the Northern Sector Command. The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.
In May last year, a Saudi Arabian F-15 crashed in the eastern oil-rich country, killing the pilot. The aircraft had also doing training missions in the Eastern Province when the incident occurred.
