Space.com reported, an asteroid with a size similar to the aircraft will cross the earth at a distance closer than the moon. But the media is sure, it is not potentially threatening our Earth. The closest distance path the asteroid is estimated to reach 324,604 kilometers from Earth but there is no danger of collision when the asteroid 2005 YU55 reach the closest distance to Earth next 8th November.
At the closest point, astronomers claimed to be able to study the asteroid better. Normally, objects that cross Earth's sky is far enough. However, with this close distance, astronomers and scientists can observe the asteroid very well.
Asteroid 2005 YU55 discovered by astronomers of University of Arizona in Tucson in 2005. This asteroid included in the list as 'a potentially hazardous object', it continued to be monitored by the Minor Planet Center of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge. An asteroid known as 2005 YU55 has passed near the Earth on April 19, 2010, with a distance of 1.5 million miles or 2.4 million miles - six times the distance between Earth and Moon.
At that time Astronomers using planetary radar system at Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico to captured the picture of the asteroid during four days, starting on 19 April. Captured photos shows the telescope, 2005 YU55, as the half-light stone that flew through the solar system.
I think, Asteroids is an amazing thing, a big rock -without machine- that flew in space, around the world.
