Li Na meets Schiavone at the French Open Final 2011

Chinese tennis player Li Na reached the French Open final. After at semifinals, Li Na beat Maria Sharapova. In the match held on Thursday (02/06/2011) night local time, Li Na who is seeded sixth place end seventh seed resistance, Sharapova, in straight sets 6-4 and 7-5.

This is the second successive grand slam final for Li Na of this year, after the player was signed at the Australian Open final in January. Unfortunately she was defeated by Kim Clijsters. In the final, Li Na will face the defending champion Francesca Schiavone, on Saturday.

French open final will be held tight and not easy for Li Na and Schiavone. Li Na even now back at verge of history that is to become the first Asian player to win the grand slam title. Francesca Schiavone has the opportunity defend the French Open title after she re-planted on the top game this year.

In the semi-final match held on Thursday (03/06/2011) night local time, Schiavone challenged host-tennis player Marion Bartoli. Schiavone won two straight sets 6-3 and 6-3.

Since 2007, the two players have met four times. Schiavone and Li Na both share the same two victories.

The 29-year-old player is listed as the first woman from Asia who won the grand slam, after conquered Francesca Schiavone at the French Open final on Saturday (4/6/11). In a match that lasted 1 hour 47 minutes, Li Na win straight sets 6-4, 7-6.
